How do I use the Memory and Energy Saver features in Foom?

To save your computer’s memory and help active tabs run smoothly, Foom deactivates tabs that you aren’t currently using. When you access an inactive tab, Foom automatically reloads it.

Enable or disable Memory Saver

  1. Launch Foom
  2. Navigate to Menu → Settings → System → Performance
  3. Toggle the Memory Saver option on/off

Keep specific sites active

You can add exceptions to keep specific sites active.

Note that wildcards for prefix, suffix, or substring matches of the URL host component are not supported. For example, *oogle.com or google.com/* won’t match.

Change inactive tabs appearance

When Memory Saver is on, inactive tabs show a dotted circle around the favicon.

If you prefer to disable this appearance, go to Settings → Appearance → Tabs and toggle the Inactive tabs option off.

How do I use the Energy Saver feature?

To extend your device’s battery, Foom reduces image capture rate and other background tasks. When Energy Saver is on, it works automatically whenever your device is unplugged, or when your battery is low. Energy Saver does not turn on when your device is plugged in.
